Each person is different, so at our first meeting I will listen to your counselling needs and this will inform how I might work with you. This can change over time as your needs change and as you progress.
My counselling experience is expansive. It includes a five year placement, offering long term counselling, within the voluntary sector. The settings in which I have offered short term counselling include one year as an honorary student counsellor within a university; an honorary counsellor within two London hospitals for a year and a half; bereavement counselling for a well know bereavement charity;short term counselling over several years for a well known mental health service.
I have eleven years experience in the field of smoking cessation as a stop smoking counsellor and debrief facilitator so understand and am skilled in offering support to people wanting to move towards more healthy ways of living.
I have worked as a counsellor for an employee assistance program for many years, offering telephone support/crisis management support to callers. I now take counselling referrals in Crawley on a regular basis from e.a.p.s, occupational health services, personal injury claim services, alongside my private counselling practice in Crawley
I have four years voluntary work experience for a well known mental health charity, offering face to face counselling to clients who may be referred by their g.p., psychiatrist, an agency, social worker, crisis team, self refer.
